It started with a great idea
My Cousin's Closet was founded in 1990 by Sharon Meyer and her cousin, Chris Callahan. Long before "green" and "reduce, reuse, recycle" were part of our daily lexicon, these smart ladies knew that possessions once loved sometimes needed a second chance. Pink flyers went out all over town, and a tradition was born. They opened the store with a Friday night sale in October, and launched an Uptown tradition.
In 2017 the store name was changed to "My Cousin's Cottage". We wanted to emphasize our commitment to providing Westerville and surrounding communities with a first class resale shopping experience that focused on your home. It's about more than just closets full of unused junk - it's a new way to look at decorating with possessions that are still current, modern, and beautiful to look at.
The name might be slightly different, but the ideas started by our founders are still the same. We all have home decor items that have lost their appeal, so why not let someone else enjoy them in a whole new light? Visit us soon and see how amazing consignment can be!
Meet Jody
The store is currently owned by Jody Czako, a longtime fan and avid bargain shopper. She knew firsthand what an asset this store is to our community, and it motivated her to buy the business when it came up for sale in 2015.

Our dazzling merchandise displays and equally awesome product photos often start before we even open the doors. Jen (left) keeps our website and social media rolling. Ann (right) is our Director of Mechandising, and the true master of putting the right touches on every area in the store. She creates our product displays with skillful attention to every detail.
